REFLECTIONS ON LOYALTY

March 10, 2014

“And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son: (Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.) The beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen! Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph. Ye mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew, neither let there be rain, upon you, nor fields of offerings: for there the shield of the mighty is vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, as though he had not been anointed with oil… How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, thou wast slain in thine high places. I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me… (2 Sam. 1:17-21, 25-26 KJV).

David, a man after God’s heart, having learned of the defeat of Saul, was not happy about this, but sad. He grieved over Saul, over Jonathan, with whom he had a friendship. These were his sincere feelings, and not just another PR motion.

Not everyone of David’s surrounding understood him. Commander Joab told David once: “In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends…” (2 Sam.19:6). Joab did not know God, did not understand His heart. (more…)

ONE YEAR LATER

December 3, 2013

On November 20th precisely a year had passed since that day when certain events happened in my life, which echoed deep pain, not only for me and my family, but also for the whole church and all the churches of our association. Things we had to and have to get through now are difficult to describe in words. But at the same time I have realized that nothing accidental happens, and sooner or later, everything finds its explanation. Now I understand why a year ago Ulf Ekman tried to displace me from my ministry.

First of all, with respect and love in Christ, I want to thank Ulf Ekman, Carl – Gustav and all Swedish brothers for all the good they have done for me and our church, preaching the Gospel and bringing the message of faith. Whatever happens, I have always loved and will love them with love of Christ. (more…)

LETTER TO PASTORS

January 11, 2013

Dear Pastor!

Merry Christmas!  I wish you, your family and your church God’s peace, joy and hope!

In this letter I want to encourage you to continue hold on to God, to pray and love one another!

I also want to let you know that my goals have not changed. I want to go on serving God together with our brothers from Sweden, together with Pastor Ulf. I want our relationship go up to a higher level so that together we could preach the Gospel to all the nations in the world. And for this to happen, some changes must first take place.

I look forward to meeting Pastor Ulf and our appointment will most likely be held in late January – early February.  Therefore  I would urge you not to make any rush steps to separate, do not listen to those who lead to division, but wait for clarity that, I believe, God will give us and which will be a blessing to  us all. SITUATION WITH THE MASS MAILING FROM “WORD OF LIFE”, SWEDEN

December 13, 2012

Dear friends, blog readers! Peace be to you!

I would like to inform that since last night I have been receiving phone calls from many people, and many write and speak to me in person that a mass mailing is being done to their e-mails from the info@woli.se e-mail address. People receive letters from Sweden called “The situation with the “Word of Life” center in Donetsk. The broad scope of the send-out implies that the personal e-mails were taken from the registration data of our people.

With all due respect and my deep love for Pastor Ulf and other ministers I conceder  the very fact of such mailing unethical, because it was done without my agreement or coordination  and  to parishioners of the church entrusted to me by the Lord.

I also would want to make it clear that the phrase “at the moment Pastor Leonid rejected the proposal” in this letter is not true and is in fact misinforming people.

As I have repeated many times, I have not given a definitive answer yet. All I’m doing now is continue to pray and wait for a chance to meet with Pastor Ulf and I do hope for further cooperation.

Therefore, I urge all to remain in peace, patience, and love for one another, “endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace”.

May God bless you abundantly!
